It's going to kill a lot of people by sucking vast amounts resources and polluting the environment, and then even more by poisoning the legal, medical, educational, and social systems we rely on with bigoted (remember it's trained on the internet) and misinformed slop. And that's before people like Musk deliberately twist them to suit their own ends.
GenAI needs to be massively reigned in but not on the way, and not for the reasons StopAI insist. To paraphrase Milo Rossi, you don't need something shadowy to get mad at, you can get mad at what's actually there.
I can't help but think that the system actually works on the definition of "gun" being "a black kid carrying anything."
So many of these ai systems have systemic biases baked in and unchecked. (See also facial recognition in supermarkets.)
This and the post about Musk's place in the hierarchy both show that money won't save you. Being a citizen won't save you. And being a bootlicker certainly won't save you. It just makes it easier for them to stomp on your neck.

One applicant was a person laid off during the DOGE purge who simply wants to get back to the government position they held before Trump returned to the Oval Office. My first thought on seeing the headline was "he's black, isn't he." The racism in the US never surprises and always disappointed.
