YouTube, like many Americans; gave up on convincing the 1% who think the actual voting was rigged. With a mountain of evidence showing the media rigged all information, there is no evidence of actual voting fraud beyond the same level of dead and illegal voting that exists in every election. The factual evidence shows that media companies hid every story that was detrimental to Biden. That they sensationalised every minor detail about President Trump. Rightfully, YouTube doesn’t want to be classed into the former category moving forward.
Buy a better system or suffer? Microsoft publishes on Xbox, switch, iOS, android, and MacOS. I don’t know about PlayStation.past or present. I sold my PS4 when their censorship policies became public.
Yes. obviously they publish many games on their own platform alone. They also cross publish games as well.
I e already run into the issue with my account. I’ve been with Netflix since the yellow envelope days. While travelling I found that my account worked fine on cellular. As soon as I turned on hotel wifi I got a notice that the content wasn’t available. (International). Their losses will be much higher than they think!! For two reasons. 9:10 Netflix “exclusives” aren’t exclusive, rather locally exclusive distribution. Quickly searching around on the internet will show LEGAL options elsewhere . Much of the Korean content can be picked up from a Korean streaming distributor that has internet rights and is happy to sell services to us users. Nearly all Indian content is on Eros or Value Hong Kong media can be streamed from celestial. Etc etc Netflix doesn’t have much for US exclusives. It’s all available for free streaming or low cost purchase. And the grey market disc to digital option. Multiple legal disc to digital services let you scan a barcode and purchase a digital version for minimal cost. In many cases under $1 They say it’s supposed to be your own disc, not one at the store isle, but the TOS doesn’t really make that a requirement. Especially when more than one company has ASIN to UPC converter tools on site. That single killer film you must subscribe for? Is $3.99 or less. Netflix is going to die if they don’t make a partnership or drastically change something very soon. There’s a reason there is a growing stock holder push to join prime video.
Wow: porn is the most inclusive of all media. Every body type and gender projection is well represented. For better and worse, every age is represented. No other form of media can spotlight and starlight the way porn does.
Let’s reiterate This whole mess is because a group of PlayStation owners are upset that they may not get new content for a game series 10 years from now. They made a big noise crying about and a few over-reaching government agencies took up the pointless cause. Nobody has yet shown how this merger could possibly hurt anyone else but this group of PlayStation owners. Microsoft has shown a history of cross platform support. Notice the lack of Nintendo owners complaining? The lack of steam and GOG users? The lack of MacOS users? When are governments going to stop fawning over 1% of the population of gamers?!! Because that’s who’s complaining. Even in the Sony world we’re talking about 1% complaining.
Age verification has been a topic since the mid 90s and the north of the “real” internet. There are benefits to age verification and identity verification. For one, sales platforms suddenly become secured from rampant fraud. Eg amazon and offer up. A win in my book is it would also creat an incentive to sandbox content. Locking porn may also push other controversial topics but also help those controversial topics survive. And as far as I’m concerned the more that is on the internet the better. There’s down sides to this, a few. Locking Nation of Islam and Brotherhood of Christ behind a pay wall is good. But we have a a sharp drop off where we start locking up Progressive and Conservative topics as well. And who’s to stop old twitter locking up the far righ politicians or new twitter from locking up the far left? And where do you draw that line. Oops: too far? If legally limited to already controlled content I see little issue. If added to online sales, still good. But any laws need to be rather strongly worded to keep speaking speakable.
I don’t understand how this would help law enforcement unless they already have an active case to review.
I welcome you to visit any country in the South Pacific, Eastern Europe, Northern Africa, and many larger cities elsewhere in the world. Your surveillance concerns are just crying tantrums when you look at the rest of the world. The US has the lowest level of government surveillance in the commercial world. Are you against being watched, or are you against people being held to the rules they agreed to? Because your own statement is that cameras are catching people breaking the rules and being held accountable.
When streaming took off some time ago, many of us complained about how many services we needed for what content. Many of us still like the mergers even if we loose one or two things. The problem here isn’t the (obvious) greed factor. It’s the way things are paid out for. YouTube/google has the right idea. As do other semi-user based services like daily motion et al. Even, in general, Amazon. It’s a method the Discovery, Netflix, crowd could learn from. You don’t pay to “host” something. You pay per view. And you pay based on how much is viewed. If an hour of a two hour film is viewed, you pay half the value. That’s the way rights should be. There’s a reason Amazon is the largest commercial streaming host now. The value to the customer. And the creators get paid. They also have more subscribers than any individual service. Which is why so many have chosen to offer their services on Amazon as well. Eg Max, Discovery, Eros, Paramount. Etc That’s the way it works! Pay per view. Not for hosting something 50 people watch once, eg Mad.
“simply doesn’t deem worth serving”You’re the minority. Not just a minority, THE minority. A tiny group of self righteous technonutters who think that they should get everything for free or deep discounts and not give up anything in return. You want a 62” display, not tv, display, with 4k output and no tracking? Pay the cost of giving up discounts and spend $300 or so. The majority of the population doesn’t give a rip if some company knows what we watch. Viewer tracking has been around since the 1970s!!!! Let me make this clear! For every person like you; there’s 20 like me that say so what if someone knows what I watch. Happy to accept the massive cost reductions that tracking and monetising brings! You’re part of the tiny minority. Accept that. For the rest of us, this is a nice deal!
If you’re in public you’re on camera. Reality for sheltered people who never left the country, the US has fairly mild and lacking surveillance compared to most modernised countries.
So much the progressive. Pushing someone to break a legal contract (including confidentiality agreements) is very much in the realm of aiding a criminal act. Just because you don’t agree with the law doesn’t make it go away
“ “anyone they happened to see on the streets during protests that erupted in the city” You refer to those who violated a lawful curfew. That is: Actual criminals. That inconvenience out of the way… What happened that night is absolutely disgusting. The cops were clearly having fun, not doing their job, in clearing the streets of curfew violators. The assault, is even more concerning. A group of armed police beat an unarmed man senseless. That shows a bad environment of a department, a bad name for the majority of good police in our country.
I’m sorry. Is tech dirt going to do any form of coverage (I don’t expect a retract) of how current president Biden is a traitor who has committed treason for over a decade? How trump/Russia was a political funded scam, how we have factual evidence of the Clinton and Biden families making major cash out of Ukraine. How about the undoctored verified footage of Ukrainian hit squads, we government officials, detaining, then murdering, Russians in the south east in 2020 and 2019. Something that bear every family that manages to escape pre war has reported on? There are real stories that you falsely reported on. Instead we we get cry baby antics about traffic stops. And copyright. Our country is lead by a government of fraud/ supporting a country’s past genocide against a liberator… all while cashing the drafts in the bank. Come on!!! Factual important stories!
The FBI is one stew straw of being gutted. From fake nonsense investigations (Trump) to selective method raids (Trump vs Biden) to faking national security threats (Michigan, Jan 5) to ignoring treason (Biden)… The organisation is on a long dive off a very high cliff with no parachute. If they can pretend to clean up well enough, they may just ride out the storm they cause since 2015.
Sadly… I partly agree. So much of our “republic” is so built to fail that we’re here this long is quite surprising. When you take state to mean literally, the US isn’t much different than the EU. We see how that’s working out with a half dozen members looking at leaving and one already gone. The idea of splitting California has been tossed about for over 100 years and cries now are stronger than ever. Be it north and east of SN, or just north…. New York has been tossing around tossing the name sale for almost 15 years now. Illinois has been trying to jettison Chicago/Cook County for 30 years. And it’s literally a matter of when, not if, now. Cities are no unilaterally leaving the county by all but law. Cities have become too powerful in their political abilities. Today it almost makes sense to dissolve the presidency, and allow for the 58 independent states to emerge with full liberty.
The solution here is simple, Proof of age Proof of residency Proof of citizenship Proof of voting eligibility Proof of everything A publicly funded national id. The US is one of the few states in the world to not have a national ID. It really needs to catch up with the rest of the world.
Let’s keep in mind Tim has no comprehension of Presidential Powers. He only accepts what he believes/should/ be. Not the facts of how reality actually /is/! The absolute and complete right of classification is with the president. No order or documentation is required And no, no review is required. Nowhere does it state there must be documentation of declassification! Nowhere does it state anyone other than the president has ultimate release rights. And no, nobody needs to redact anything unless the president, or his chosen operative, decides redactions are required. Until you come up with something that no agency or organisation so far has produced, that is, something that says the president does not have the ability to blink or think or fart and documents are declassified at his private discretion, move on. You are lucky libertarians like myself don’t make it to office. I’d end all foreign intervention, and set a last-person-home declaration on 100% of classified documents. Before I even move in. I don’t care who does it as long as more papers are declassified.
What for the axe?
You have to put numbers with general statements. What was the viewership of Willow vs Marvel and Starwars and Dumbo! “Popular” is a generic statement without comparative numbers. Few argue that the management of any company is likely overpaid. But shows get cut, dims get cut, because the viewership isn’t there.
