  In the old Infocom game based on The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. One of the puzzles involved getting Marvin the Paranoid Android to assist you by proving your superior intelligence to him. This was accomplished, in the typically roundabout manner favored by Douglas Adams, by showing Marvin that you had tea and no tea at the same time. It sounds like de Graaf would have solved the puzzle, first go. Sadly.

  Elon is like a Salmon trying to swim upstream in a fountain. He may think he knows what he's doing but he's doing it incorrectly,in the wrong place because he's driven by instincts that don't really work outside his natural habitat. An environment where people are dependent on Elon making money. Instead of one where he's dependent on others (advertisers) providing income for him. I suspect it galls him to have to consider the rights and opinions of others in decision making. Not that I expect positive changes on Twitter other than those forced on him by economic realities. He and The Donald share several traits One of which is; at the moment,neither one is electable as President.

  Maybe reserve judgement on that until and if the sale goes through since Elon's already broken the terms of the agreement. That plus a 12% drop in Tesla stock value right after the announcement might require a rethink. With Elon the only guarantee is drama because in the final analysis history has shown,it's all about Elon.

  Winston Churchill once said that: “democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others.” The same principle applies here. Without actually infringing on someones free speech, options are severely limited. The irony of the fact that people can't agree on a way to deal with things people find disagreeable appears to be lost on most individuals. In order to make some people happy you have to reinterpret the 1st amendment. This would eventually make those same happy people considerably less so in due time because they don't realize what they're really asking for. I suspect it would be quite a painful epiphany. Quite simply, until you can get at least a majority to agree on a solution? It has most definitely NOT been figured out. Even then, probably not. Though I don't believe it's a problem or needs a solution. What it needs is a people aware and understanding of how the 1st amendment works and how Sec.230 protects those who exercise said amendment from frivolous lawsuits and potential financial ruin. Apparently even former Presidents aren't immune from ignorance of how the 1st amendment works.

  Maybe I'm not getting something here (wouldn't be the first time.),but wouldn't the simplest course be to just not use it? Might as well give them the passwords to your social media accounts at the same time. The app would serve no purpose,other than a tool for spying. If I have something private to say, I'm sure as hell not going to say it on a company controlled app. Either they're desperate or they have an even lower opinion of their employees intelligence than I thought possible. Perhaps both.

  Exactly. This should by definition make anyone involved in organizing the Jan. 6 riots responsible for injury's, deaths and destruction wrought by the participants. I don't expect the ruling will stand but, if it should it certainly presents a unique opportunity for the DoJ to pursue the organizers of that travesty.

  Particularly, in the unlikely event of it's making it as far as an actual trial.
  That sort of attention and interest brings a level of microscopic scrutiny he and his department can ill afford.

  I lived in Missouri for 30 years.
  This mindset is common for most of their politicians.
  The Show-Me State shows lots of things but leaders with common sense aren't on display. (Josh Hawley, Eric Greitens...)
  Gov. "Parsnip" needs to quit behaving like he has the intelligence of one, get his Mule head out of his ass (pun intended) accept that this FU occurred on his watch and is therefore at least partially his responsibility.
  A man in his position can't afford to be more tech illiterate than his constituents.
  At least, not for long.
