  Huh. This isn't a bad idea. I could do this in like two minutes on domain/server. You'd need the browsers in on it, and yes that would probably solve 85%+/- and that's a hell of a start. I've been raging that kids Cannot program because they've really not been taught to (tho I assumed it would be standard curriculum decades ago, alas). The kids that Can? You can't stop "them" anyway. I was an 80s phreak, they didn't/couldn't stop Us. And it's much less than 15% but kids are otherwise clever. I like your idea.

  Now, now. I put up with this shit in California 35 years ago. Previous to below I got busted in Jr High for playing D&D at lunch by a principal and librarian! that were very Christian, because, D&D=Satanism. They were removed for their positions. But in High School, my buddes and I all did journalism in Jr. High and we decided to make a, "humorous expository independent paper" (Think some desktop publishing and a Xerox that could do double sided 8.5x17). All built on my computer at my home and I can't remember where we copied it actually. Anyway, no school assets involved. And we distributed material OFF campus. Many of our articles poked fun at administration. I think we gave the janitor (a legit) Guidance Counselor of The Year. Shit like that. Oh dear, that hit the fan after our second "issue". We were ordered detention for like a week, but my buddy's father was an attorney and was having none of that crap. We got a new principal in the middle of That Year. It ain't just Tennessee. Even the liberal bastion of the Republic of California has its thin-skinned Petty bureaucrats that are so insecure and personally weak they have to beat up on children.

  I use Signal with some folk (One worked in the Whitehouse until recently). I have my own NextCloud instance (as does my girlfriend) and we use Talk. My E2E is MY TLS plus disk encryption. Only two people can access the Apache Logs and they don't show much. Regulate That UK. middle finger And no you aren't installing things on my phone. It's rooted with my OS so have fun with that. These are All designed to dragnet The Most Users. That's why large platforms are targeted, most bang for the buck. It's never about "the children" it's about casting the widest net. TLS works (ask our dear friend James Comey). GPG works. My crypto is pretty good, and if I have it, so do bad people. And I don't use major platforms, I use my own shit... I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess... so do bad people.

  My girlfriend cheerfully informed me I'll be spooling up a Mastodon insurance for her personal convenience. She's helping beta ActivityPub on WordPress Twitter's gone man. I and I'm guessing a few around here are technically capable of replacing it. You can have the dumpster fire, the result of us (and the gays and trans and free thinkers and literates oooo, Furries in Fedi are hysterical!) The vibrant tapestry of people is walking away.

  Oh... and I own a Hosting Company... I ASSURE you (because my business partner and I paid the bill Just the other day (and it's probably more than you make in half a year) that if I did not pay that bill, my severs would be in the dumpster by Friday in Santa Monica. Super inconvenient. But I gotta pay My provider for rack space and power and Ethernet and cooling and redundancy and all that happy stuff... So I'm just a little guy that does some bespoke stuff and I pay Lots for my infrastructure. So I'm going to ask you to justify why I have to pay my bills to help my customers be successful, so I'm successful (it's how the economy works man) but ElMo is some unicorn beyond all that? You want my "Occupy Mars" T-shirt?
