women (who should instead be honoured and treasured as mothers and homemakers)Aaaaaand there's the blatant misogyny. You only care about women if they're obedient little housewives baking bread and popping out children.
And the Confederates made it very clear they were in rebellion. In this case, though it pains me to say, it's not as clear-cut that this was legally binding insurrection. Thus the need for actual jury trial before we can bar him.
Those useful functions can be replaced by a state police post, answerable to people outside the county. The problem with sheriff's offices is that they're custom-made for corruption at the local level, so removing that influence would go a long way.
There are no actual free speech warriors. Every one of them has things they will ban or try to silence. Even the ones saying "as long as it's legal it's okay" will push for laws against the things they hate, and are quiet about the laws that target people they don't like. It's never about unrestricted speech, it's about speech they like being unrestricted & turning a blind eye when speech they dislike is being restricted. They just like to pretend they're righteous defenders of freedom, but it never works out that way.
Trump has not been convicted of anything that would bar him under that clause, yet. So yes, he can currently run for office until such a conviction is secured.
County Sheriff's offices need to be abolished. They're all full of this shit, across the country. They know who they can abuse without repercussion, and who is above the law (or will cover for their own violations). The duties of county law enforcement should be handled by a branch of the state police, who at least (ostensibly) are subject to more training & scrutiny than these gangs.
Nothing about this tool "helped" anyone be a more successful author.
The problem is that law enforcement is the problem. We can't enforce the existing Consitution properly, because the people responsible for enforcing it are their own form of organized crime. How are you supposed to fix that without a complete systemic overhaul of the entire system? Yes, it'll be chaotic and dangerous. But the existing system is also chaotic and dangerous. No, we'll never fully get rid of corruption. But right now, our law enforcement systems are rotten to the core.
It really sounds like Baginski believes young Americans cannot follow long, complicated plots, so he just tried to write for what he assumed they would want to see... and royally screwed up, because he doesn't actually understand his actual target audience. He's just mired in the idea that young Americans cannot pay attention to long content or understand complicated plots, which absolves him from blame when he fails to actually understand what his audience wants from the show.
Star Trek got cancelled because its ratings dropped. It always struggled to get enough viewers and couldn't keep up by season 3. The idea it was "pulled off the air" because of its political stance just doesn't pass muster.
The trick is, you cannot see NSFW on Reddit without going into your account and enabling it. So anyone seeing porn they don't want basically self-inflicted that wound.
That's literally the problem in a nutshell: according to conservatives, any statement by a government employee towards these companies is somehow censorship in their capacity as a government employee. They want to frame it so that things like Joe Biden's staff asking Twitter to take down Hunter's dick pics is "overreach" by the government... even though they were not reaching out as government employees, but as representatives of Biden as a private citizen. The conservative assumption is that, because Biden is President, any request by him (or his staff) to a social media company carries the weight of his office. And it's precisely that bias that carried the judge's ruling.
Site's still broken, too. Try to report someone for breaking any rule, click through until you get to the "Add Other Tweets" button. No matter who you're reporting, the system claims it can't find any other tweets by that person! So their own system still can't see the other tweets.
Because it has no bearing on whether or not Elon should pay his bills. That's an obligation, not a "Oh, i don't like this place so I should get to work/live here for free."
Nah, Twitter was actually really good for following artists and indie musicians, or other interesting people. It's a great way to get notified of new works, announcements for streams, or just general fun stuff they post. But the algorithm was always hostile to those kinds of posts, because they don't provide the instant gratification that a celebrity fight or racist rant does. Further, posts mentioning Patreon got downranked, making it harder for artists to support themselves. Musk just made it far, far worse by down-ranking anyone who didn't buy Twitter Blue.
If this makes it to discovery, all the Taco Bell folks need to do is play a montage of all the times cartoons and sitcoms use the term "taco Tuesday" to demonstrate it's ubiquitous, and has nothing to do with Taco John's.
She hopefully manages to insert a clause into her contract that includes a huge payoff if she's fired within the first year, because I can guarantee Musk is looking to do just that. He wants her on board to distract from his own mistakes, then he can pin the blame on her and give her the boot. If she's smart at all, she's factored that into the hiring terms, so she can exit a lot richer than she came in.
That is laughably ignorant. Writing a prompt is not "the creative part of writing." Whether it's for an AI or just scribbled on the back of a napkin, that prompt is nothing without the actual work & earned talent that goes into producing a script or prose.
