WiFi In Brunei

The whole world is going WiFi. Of course, it’s no surprise that Intel’s behind the pitch, but they’re telling hotels, restaurants and cafes in Brunei that they absolutely must offer WiFi if they want tourists to visit their establishments. From the quotes in the article, you would think that no one ever traveled anywhere remote before – and that most tourists base their travel decisions based on how easy it is for them to be in contact with the people they just left behind. Obviously, it is nice to have the ability to connect while away – and it is quite attractive for many tourists (including myself), but at some point some people need to remember that the point of a vacation is often to get away – and not to just find a new place to connect.
