Wireless Expected To Be 3/4 Of Korea's Telecom Biz By 2008

Wireless is big business in South Korea – but the latest predictions suggest that it’s only going to continue taking business away from traditional wired telecom systems. In fact, by 2008, IDC Korea is predicting that 74% of telecom expenditures will be on wireless systems. In absolute terms, the amount of money flowing into wireline telecom systems is expected to remain constant, but wireless will continue to expand at about 20% per year. More evidence that any company is deluding itself, if it believes it can remain in the wireline business without having a wireless play as well.
