If You Configure It, They'll Use It

I really hope carriers don’t need a report to tell them that users are more likely to use 2.5G, or any data services for that matter, if they are preconfigured on their handset. This is probably more of a problem in markets where handsets and service are commonly available independent of each other. In the US, where most people buy service and handsets directly from carriers, the handsets are preconfigured, subscribers just don’t see much value in the services and fees.
