World's First Email From Airplane Sent

from the everybody-celebrate dept

The last place in the world where you really are totally cut off from email has just added email. Someone on a Lufthansa airplane has sent the first email via broadband from a regularly scheduled ariplane flight. They’re using the Connexion system from Boeing, which has apparently survived the desertion of all the major American airlines. Soon you won’t be stuck with whatever terrible movie your flight is showing, and may be able to waste your flight surfing. I know, if I ever get on a plane with full internet access, the first thing I’ll do is upload a picture of my food to I’m sure that’s what Boeing was thinking of when they first dreamed up this project.
