Nokia Exec Sees Little Hope For Next Generation Phones

Anssi Vanjoki, an Executive VP for Nokia said today that the various 2G/2.5G/3G labels mean nothing if consumers don’t see any difference. While the headline of the article makes it sound like he’s trashing 3G, he’s not. He’s actually just saying that MMS on a 2.5G phone is a noticeable difference – and that’s what consumers will care about more than the speed difference between 2.5G and 3G. Actually, the real headline is even more misleading because they call him the CEO instead of an executive VP. Makes you wonder what article the headline writer was reading.
