VoiceStream Proposes Cingular Merger
Because there haven’t already been enough rumors about just when VoiceStream might merge with AT&T Wireless, Cingular (or both), now the Wall Street Journal has a report that VoiceStream has approached Cingular about a merger, that would (as it should) end up with Cingular really buying VoiceStream. This is basically the same story that was rumored about AT&T Wireless and VoiceStream a few weeks back, so I wouldn’t put too much weight in it until things move further along. However, it’s clear that VoiceStream is pretty desperately looking to be bought out somehow.
