The NY Times Discovers Cookies

from the reporters-after-their-web-masters,-apparently dept

The NY Times, which makes extensive use of cookies, is now writing about cookies (in theory, this link shouldn’t require you to register, but will require cookies). This article mostly discusses Lou Montulli and the history of cookies, as well as the mess that came afterwards, as people noticed that cookies, while perhaps essential in turning the internet into what it is today, also came at the potential cost of users’ privacy. I guess today is “privacy day” on Techdirt.
