Using Computers From Dead Dot Coms Not Safe For The Clueless

from the just-a-warning dept

A public service announcement from Techdirt. If you’re using a computer that you “borrowed” from the dead dot com you used to work for and haven’t thought about changing some of the security settings, you’re probably at risk. Of course, that’s probably (hopefully?!?) pretty obvious to anyone who’s ever set up a network, or done any sort of system admin type stuff. However, if not, I’ll just quote one of the more vocal people from the article: using that computer is “like having unprotected sex with 100 hookers ?- you’re bound to get infected with something.”
