AOL Exec Put On Leave For PurchasePro Partnership

I saw this story last night in the NY Times, and this morning the Washington Post has a few more details – but it’s still a bit confusing. It seems that AOL has put one of its execs on leave for six weeks for having created the relationship AOL has with PurchasePro (AOL owns 5.7% of PurchasePro). PurchasePro is having tremendous financial difficulties these days. It’s not clear, however, what the guy at AOL did to deserve to be put on leave. There are some mumblings about accounting, but I don’t see why anyone at AOL would have anything to do with the accounting at PurchasePro…
