IBM Gets Ready To Take Orders On TransNote

from the new-laptop-designs dept

I’m not sure how well it will be accepted, but IBM is getting ready to take orders on its new Transnote portfolio computer. I have to admit, that this is the most thought out laptop design I’ve seen in a while. It is a thin “portfolio” with a laptop on one side and a digital note pad on the other, so you can take notes, which will immediately be transferred to the laptop. This is the first real advancement I’ve seen in laptop design in a while, where they’re actually thinking about what some people use their laptops for – and how to provide that functionality better. I realize this product probably has some limited markets (they’re targeting lawyers and students), but it’s good to see some people are expanding on the simple laptop design. Here are the details on the Transnote.
