No, you misheard; I said I just want them to go away.
The biggest threat with “AI” is exactly the same as any other tool. It’s how humans use it.Well, that and its environmental impact irrespective of how it's used.
Yeah, as of right now Blanche is acting AG, which is...not an improvement.
Speaking of "wiping out what's left of the DOJ", apparently Bondi's out.
Careful, now. You wouldn't want to do a McPromptism.
Like, I'm legit flabbergasted here, man. I'm trying not to be too harsh here, but this is a staggeringly bad analogy and it's not at all clear that you understand the basic facts about McCarthyism, and if you do, it doesn't seem like you think there's a relevant difference between a senator ruining careers and lives and some Internet randos being wrong about a video game.
McPromptismdo you... ...do you think mccarthyism was when people were falsely accused of being carthies
I’m watching a version of this begin to take form around artificial intelligence.Oh, fuck all the way off.
Inclusive "or".
It's not a war, it's a military operation on truth.
Whew! You almost forgot to bothsides it there.
It's been fourteen months. Not since the beginning of this litigation, since the beginning of Trump's current term in office. These proceedings may seem glacially slow to you, in which case congratulations on never having suffered through the American justice system yourself.
Even the Washington Post editorial board got taken inWell jeez, if you can't trust an unsigned editorial from a paper whose owner has actively and publicly interfered with its content to favor the Trump Administration, who can you trust?
The Bezos Post ain't doin' so hot, either. Well, Jeff wanted to focus on free speech and free markets. Looks like 20% of his (then-) customers were more than happy to have that conversation.
Perhaps, but these are also men with fragile egos who love keeping score and hate being humiliated. As Noah Berlatsky put it:
And yes, billionaires hate to lose money and status. Not enough to admit they’re wrong, perhaps. But enough to take it out on people like Bari Weiss.
(I'll add that Cruz is more than willing to act stupid if he thinks it'll help him get what he wants.)
The fact that Ted Cruz of all people can see this for what it is should tell you something.Cruz isn't stupid, he's shameless. He'll take whatever position he thinks will benefit him in the moment. So will Carr, as his past statements make quite clear. They're not on opposite sides of this because they have any genuine values, they're on opposite sides of this because each one of them sees a political benefit in the side he's (currently) taken.
Also, they didn't turn against him after he tried to have them murdered. This isn't normal politics. This isn't the Republicans sidling away from Bush after (after, not before) the 2006 midterms. Trump is different; he's not a normal politician, he's a demagogue. The GOP is his cult of personality now. As you say, they can't win a Republican primary if they're anti-Trump, and that's without getting into the stochastic terrorism. MTG didn't last two months once Trump directed his minions to start threatening her family.
Yes, we wouldn't be talking about centrist Republicans wavering if the if the vote could get to 50 without them. Generally when the majority of the Republican Party supports something but the centrist Republicans don't, that indicates that the Democrats don't either. I would have thought that was so obvious it didn't need explaining. The left-to-right spectrum is reductive, of course, but it's a reasonable rule of thumb that if Susan Collins is opposing something from the left, then people who are farther left than she is are probably opposed to it too.
