  btw, how does this affect computers and monitors? they are, by definition, electronic devices. are PC and Monitors manufacturers going to have to have a profanity filter built in? What if you build your own PC? What if you use applications that are NOT websites (Mastodon for example, has NSFW pics that isn't porn, mostly relating to food and cute furry animals.)

  let's put this into context, If John Oliver can do it to sitting Senators... so can Anyone and Everyone else... it's not JUST China that has access to this information, So does Russia, and Belarus, and Saudi Arabia, and Mexican Drug Cartels, and Latin American Gangs, US Govt, British, Australian, Japanese, India. It's the Catholic Church, the Islamic Church, Christian Churches, Jewish Synagogues that have access to this information. I In short, if you've got the coin, you can buy any and all kinds of information on anyone in the world these days.

  I think a better idea, one that would certainly save the states literal tons of moneys, would be to not allow vanity plates in the first place.

  my prediction is that the bill will become law, and an encryptionless internet will be implemented, and then everything will be a hot mess, then they will either repeal the law (hopefully the likely outcome as users become absolutely PISSED about the whole idea), or they will faf about blaming the other party and having Brussles getting involved (again).
