You seem to be assuming the poll would ever reflect any result other than the one Elon wants. He did not put up a poll and tell the development team "let's see what happens". He put up a poll and told the dev team "it is going to be x 'yes' and y 'no' - go make it happen. There is no transparency in the Twitter polling process. We have to assume the results are simply what Elon wants them to be.
I like how everyone assumes anyone tweeting anything is still actually coming from that person. Elon can send out anything he wants from any account.
Nobody who could get Twitter turned back around would actually want to work for Elon at this point. He is installing someone else so he can point at the failure later and claim that if the people backed him it would have been successful.
The conservatives are being silenced by Musk being so completely crazy that they don't have anything to say. This must be a liberal conspiracy!
Government: Gambling Industry - can you stop gambling addiction? Gambling Industry: You can bet we can!
As far as I am aware, the only US agency that currently uses actual wanted posters is the FBI, and they require an arrest warrant before being added to the most wanted lists. Also, it is really interesting that the Wanteds system is missing one of the listed necessary pieces of information included on a Wanted poster according to Judge Stras: "the crime he committed"
DUCHEBÄGGION Company, with a**hat attorneys
Dayquil chicken is better.
if they lose, they just have to stick an "N" at the beginning of all of their signs.
When are you expecting that to happen? If you think Trump not being in office is going to stop him from continuing to flood Twitter, you have not been paying attention. In fact, he's about to have a lot more free time...
Milestar has been using the name "Patagonia" on tires for years. Since i have seen old movies in which people wear a tire when they have lost their clothing, I would have to believe tires are clothing. Also, I have been told that drinking too much beer can give you a "spare tire".
That is why i have been so confused. I thought my beer and my jacket were going to be made of rubber. I was keeping a spare beer in my car and a police officer was upset - i even told him it was made by the tire company.
While we should certainly be critical of law enforcement officers telling paramedics to inject a sedative, this seems to be a problem with paramedics being educated on who can tell them to forcibly "treat" someone.
A paramedic being told to do anything other than provide medical assistance should be telling the police no.
Any law enforcement officer than needed to get a technical analysis bulletin of this particular situation should be dismissed immediately.
Great use of tax payer money writing up this analysis guys.
"Coral Castle"
Isn't that descriptive to the point in which it cannot qualify for trademark? Technically, any coral reef seems to qualify as a castle for it's inhabitants.
Unless you are a narcissist that believes you are smarter than everyone else and can get away with anything.
That sounds good, but changing out a police force is a bit like changing a tire on a car while it is driving on the highway. There is a city here and there is actual crime and it still needs to be managed. You can bet that as this process moves forward, every opponent to it will be pointing out every crime that "could have been avoided" and any crime stats that go up. There is no way this is going to be easy. Many things are likely to get worse along the way and this is going to provide a lot of opportunity for those who want to stop it or police departments in other cities to point out what a bad idea it is. It's probably the right thing for them to do and I hope it works, but they have a rough road ahead of them.
I bet there are zero situations that are improved by throwing in a squad of guys shooting guns and swinging clubs. Actually, I think a combination driving range / shooting range would be a big hit in some areas.
Let's get the rest of the second quote: the resolution does lay down the next steps in the defunding process. It does not involve disbanding the PD, but it does severely curtail its responsibilities. So the "next steps" do not involve disbanding the PD - because having no social programs and no law enforcement at all is probably not viable in a city. It would be difficult for it to be anything but a phased approach in which a program for say animal control is established and the budget for the PD is reduced to pay for it. Rinse and repeat until the PD budget and responsibilities make more sense.
The only thing we can be certain of right now is that the dumpster fire will still be burning in 5 years.
