Actually, I wonder why chip makers don't partner with the folks behind disposable/reusable containers like Ziplock/Gladware/etc... then you could eat the chips and then keep a re-closable container for future snacks.
I don't think people are going to buy more soda than they normally would just because the bottles are more environmentally friendly... but maybe?
There are other solvents out there besides water! How about an ethanol+dry ice slurry...? I'd think a vodka+dry ice bath wouldn't be too hard to make -- but it'd be a bit more dangerous in terms of handling it without getting frostbite.

There used to be speed-typing/texting competitions, so I wonder if/when there will ever be a speed-gesture competition for entering data the fastest.. How many words per minute can you gesture?
I don't think battery life is *just* a problem for electric cars... and it's not even clear that pure electric cars are actually that much more desirable than hybrid vehicles.
And there are various ways to wirelessly transmit power -- but it'd be tricky to do for a target that's moving at >55mph....
There are also fundamental limits to capacitors, though... so I think chemistry might be the better bet, even though we're not really satisfied with chemical battery performance.
Maybe superflywheels will trump everything....? :)
heh. well a "nice" salad is in the eye of the beholder....
Jimr -- 25,000 Big Macs.. not all at once! :P
I wonder what other foods people might unconsciously eat 25,000 of -- maybe M&Ms?
There's also the DIY way to make microwave popcorn in a brown paper bag, from Alton Brown:

Nitric Oxide-Induced Vasorelaxation in Response to PnTx2-6 Toxin from Phoneutria nigriventer Spider in Rat Cavernosal Tissue
Too bad.. b/c if this project actually gets off the ground, it'll probably be a good ol' tungsten light bulb.
nice... but it's trademark infringement -- unless Roddenberry actually got a patent on a tricorder! :P
"ALL cars USUALLY !!!!!!! great engligh !!"
just a minor note here... the original was "All-electric cars usually" -- meaning "all-electric" as opposed to "partial-" or "hybrid-" electric cars. (That hyphen actually has a purpose...)
There used to be a Robot Wars competition at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco in the summers -- I think that'd be a close approximation of what bullying high school robots would look like... :P

fixed. It should be Indiana... just a typo, folks.
Re: The trouble with ?Organic? stuff ...
Organic is a pretty vague term -- purposely so. If "organic" actually had a regulated definition, then I'm sure it wouldn't be thrown around so much.
