Thumbs up for the TMBG quote in the headline. "Or does the water get him instead?"
Irrelevant side note: I've concluded that Triangle Man is a bully and kind of an asshole.
Looks like PrivateInternetAccess has a Mexico exit node. Now I'm going to have to start using it when I'm watching Netflix, Because Silly.
Entropy just isn't what it used to be.
The Farce is strong with this one.
Not only is Ultimate General: Gettysburg available on Android, but it's showing up on my Steam store Featured List as "Now Available". I only noticed it because of this article.
Not that I'll be buying it, it's not my preferred game type. But I hit "Store" and there it was. Apparently it's getting pretty good reviews, and only costs $15. You've missed the 50% off Summer Sale, though.
Sunday Pravda? Pravda Times?
I finally got to the documents and saw it was OC, CA. But it's not mentioned anywhere in or about the article; I was beginning to think I was going to have to Google some people's names to find out if it was CA, NY, NC, NJ, or some other OC I hadn't heard of.
There is more than one, you know.
CA seemed most likely, but still...
It's been established that you can be shot and killed for surrendering to the police.
So where is your passive attitude now?
The reason people are nervous when talking to you is because the police are known to tase people, or beat them to death, or shoot them to death, when they've done nothing wrong.
You might be nervous too if confronted by large, armed bullies with the power to kill you free of consequence.
Oooh! Oooh! That's one of our products behind Austin, a C2 Professional desktop simulator from Precision Flight Controls.
Well, I did take a chance on this deal. Here's what I found:
- Takes forever to connect. Once connected, the bandwidth seemed reasonable, but get used to watching a spinning ball or the equivalent. (Windows 7 Pro x64)
- As mentioned, I didn't have any problems with bandwidth.
- Seems like I've had a lot of trouble connecting to certain sites. I can't say for sure whether it was a problem with VPN Unlimited per se. I was using it at work, and at the moment work has a temporary cellular connection while the local robber barons -- er, I mean, Internet companies -- figure out which way is up and actually manage to get us some service. (We have so many choices: AT&T, Comcast... so many.) It seems like AT&T is doing some kind of filtering or bandwidth prioritization or something, because sites I can't load bareback seem to load smoothly via VPN. Except a few, in VPN Unlimited's case. But I haven't done enough testing to verify this, so this is all arm-waving. Still, it doesn't matter.
- After 20 days of service VPN Unlimited has told me that it's time for a monthly renewal of my lifetime unlimited account.
I mean, it's like they're not even TRYING to disguise the fraud.
Tempted to get this? Don't. I personally recommend Private Internet Access. I have my issues with them, but those mostly have to do with their subscription model not allowing in-place upgrades.
I do not care to try to take legal action against VPN Unlimited over a mere $40, but I will not be renewing my account and I will also do not plan to take advantage of any further Techdirt Daily Deals.
Boycotting Netflix: I quote you a (slightly censored) quote:
"Nobody moves or the n____r gets it!"
"I think it adds little to no value to our community and creates more problems for our students than it will ever be worth."
Could lead to dancing!
For some reason this novel comes to mind all of a sudden.
because it could lead to dancing.
I've seen it claimed here that police work is safer than it's ever been. But police are constantly whining about the danger they're in, as an excuse for the use of excessive force.
And yet this report points out that the police are causing themselves greater danger by escalating violence unnecessarily.
So... police work is not safer than it's ever been.
Apparently the police are escalating violence to increase the danger to themselves in order to justify escalating the violence.
It makes one weep for humanity.
If they ever roll out fiber here in Sacramento, I might believe that they don't break every promise they've ever made and lie every time they speak.
Meantime I can only believe AT&T only ever acts in bad faith.
I'm in this little hick town in the middle of nowhere... it's called Rosemont. It's part of Sacramento, California.
You know, the capitol of one of the largest states in the US, and that's supposed to be one of the best at technology.
Fiber? Hah hah hah! I laugh at your pretention. I'm lucky to get DSL.
My choices are: AT&T DSL or Comcast. I'm currently running Comcast. I've tried both. They both have their plusses and minuses.
I recently called Customer Lack of Service because every time it rains, my Comcast Internet dies. So after poking through his script for 20 minutes, the drone's conclusion was that it's my MODEM. When I emphasized that it only happens when it rains, and it always happens when it rains, and he should send a tech to check the outside wiring, he blew me off. "Yep, we could do that too." Uh huh.
And naturally during the course of all this, you do know what he did, right? Go on, you'll never guess. Correct, he tried to upsell me. He tried to sell me on higher speeds that I don't need and CATV that I don't want for more money, and he neglected to include the cost of renting the MODEM into the price. Of course. Oh, and it's a promotional price, so the cost would go up even farther a year from now.
Because nothing says "Customer Service" like ignoring what your customers say and then trying to sell them more expensive product when they're obviously already pissed off about the product they have.
Anyway, sorry about the rant, no I'm not really but whatever. I'm still waiting for AT&T to roll out fiber to Sacramento. AT&T are liars and cheats and thieves and I'm sorry if I've ever said anything nice about them.
Checking... checking... yep. Still pissed off.
Ulanoff was probably once butthurt by an anon troll and wants to be able to track the person down and harrass him.
