  I got into a 'discussion' last night with a rightie freind & some gomer jumped in & made it stupid. (Yes I have friends that are righties, we have discussions, we do that rare agree to disagree thing when we're both convinced ours is the correct side. Their viewpoints often contain the bits not reported in the media or in soundbites.) Anyways Gomer was trying to convince me that the only reason MindGeek did this was because they wanted to make sure they could still show porn to kids because, as he later illuminated me to, porn is just like crack. His basis was an article by a woman selling her addiction services, when challenged he provided more including things from churches. My friend bowed out early because he's smart enough to know I was going to crush Gomer. Pron causes dopamine!! - So does sugar, so does nicotine. We need glucose to live but not in excess! (includes 2 images of huge toddlers) - If only they had parents. Parents can't monitor their children 24/7! - If an adult can't figure out how to control the internet for their 8 yr old they should cancel the internet & jitterbug makes a nice nonsmart phone. Kids need access to the open internet & pron shoudl just be on the onion out of sight!!! - You give you kids rules about gun safety & expect them to follow them but you have no faith in their ability to follow your rules about pron... o_O I pointed out not all adults have credit cards, and some kids do. Another gomer tried to say but its attached the the parents account... which just shows them an adults name when verifying genius. I covered how there isn't a system in place, how its an invasion of privacy & a data leak nightmare waiting to happen all because your kids will follow the rule to not touch the gun, but not the one that says don't look at porn? Gomer got bored and wandered off back to his doublewide shortly after I suggested we should ban beef because a baby might choke on steak. The world is awash in sexual imagery, most str8 people don't even notice it, but its everywhere. Get the girl, be the man, blah blah blah.... Perhaps telling your child not to look at porn, checking on them to verify, and punishing them when they break the rule seems like to much effort compared to forcing the entire country to do way more than the parents are willing to do to protect their kids even if its not going to work & result in being a bigger clusterfuck but at least no one forced you to raise your kids. They don't want your kid watching porn, they aren't targeting your kids, kids are curious by nature. And well I've watched enough daytime DNA shows to understand how horribly lacking sex education of any sort is taught by parents. Maybe its not a world problem, but a you're a shitty parent problem & you should pur more effort into it rather than demand everyone else jump through hoops so you can have the illusion your child won't learn about secks until you're ready to have the talk with them when they are 35.

Social media didn't make me gay, it let me connect with other gay people who were invisible in my sphere. Social media didn't make me have secks, when I made the decision to have secks it was all me. Social media didn't hand me to predators. Social media gave me a global 'family' for when my own fell short of what I needed.

  Why is she mad? Its not an 'exact' copy of her face we put on the film of the wild fetish sex. Why is he mad? It not an 'exact' copy of a unique tattoo on his body that we inserted into this video that implies he was engaging in gay secks. Why you mad the match to your childs face is 98% in these disgusting pictures. Man with highly recognizable tattoo gets upset by an image that implies he was sexually involved, even in an artistic way, with someone who was not his wife. While they did do some transformative to it, anyone glancing will assume it is him.   Now you are being disingenuous. "How can a camera system be racist you might ask?" Subtle re-framing of the issue to make it be something other than what is is. Not the cameras, its the AI that seriously can not tell 1 black person from another with any possible accuracy, but people think its accurate and zomg if you look here on techdirt you will find coverage of several stories where black men were arrested based on nothing more than an ai saying yeah thats the dude. Of course one of those men had never been to the state where he was hauled off to and kept in prison, disrupting his entire life, for a cop being to lazy to verify that the image actually looked like the guy. "It’s because there are racial disparities in the perpetrators of crime." You'd be amazed how many white shoplifters get away with it for a very long time because the belief that all blacks are thieves is alive and well. A Bed Bath and Beyond store called the cops because some black people made the mistake of shopping at their store. They claim they had a policy that if customers put more than x dollars of merchandise in their cart you know they are stealing so call the cops. These were customers, the only thing "off" about them was their color. A simple conversation with them would have revealed that they had just gotten a new home and were using the store closing sale to outfit their new kitchen. You can stop many shoplifters with this one simple trick, greet them. But cost cutting by having the least amount of staff means that doesn't happen as much as it once did. "is because they claim that it is racist." You understand that nearly all of the facial recognition software packages were tested on white people right? You understand that the systems fail even on white women because the main training set was white men. The, iirc intel, facial rec was so horrible that a black phd student who was building a mirror to see faces and give affirmations couldn't ever see her face until she got a white vaugely face shaped mask and wore it. But yeah dismiss it as crazy that people call it racist when sometimes it literally can't even see some people because of their race. That seems sorta racist. "There is literally nothing wrong with excluding a lawyer from your private property, because he is employed by someone suing your company." Unless your business is a fscking sports arena and you don't tell them these are these rules and then show up with a security team and force a mother to miss out on an event with her child. It might be legal but hes a raging asshole for having done it. So under your belief its perfectly fine we could ban all registered republicans from a location we own. I highly doubt you'd keep singing that tune as security escorted you out from an event you paid to attend. In closing 2/5 try harder, you failed at the subtle make it the cameras and not the software push.

  So if they don't track their losses, how do they know they actually exist? I never said let them get away with it, I did question how serious the problem is that facial recognition, which has put innocent people in prison, thinks all black people look a like. Considering the low pay in the nation, I would not be shocked to find employees helping themselves. I keep hearing the stories of organized shoplifting gangs, but I'm just a little shocked that there aren't any arrests if these gangs are so huge & causing so much harm. But then I tend to question politicians making claims about things since they literally said if I got the right to marry people would fsck more animals... hard to take them seriously when they offer no facts.

  Someone told you, you have a problem and its getting worse. Magically they happen to be selling the ultimate solution to the problem. Here is a crazy idea that hasn't managed to enter their thoughts of gangs of terrorists stealing tampons to fund bombings... how many of these shop lifters are people who can't afford food? How much are they actually losing? How much is theft from employees? I am very tired of the well everyone knows how bad it is, when there is no data beyond people screaming they aren't making as much as they used to so it must be theft. Like those awesome speeches about how much murder has spiked in various cities, but when you look at the actual numbers its actually down.
