You mean the republican party?
So do many other states, such as Oklahoma, Arkansas, Idaho…
I mean, the percentage of trans people who regret transitioning is so close to zero it's insignificant. Also, Trans People feel less suicidal after transitioning. But facts don't matter to transmisic bigots like you.
In this case, he's saying "Hymie" as an anti-Semitic slur, rather than addressing Hyman Rosen per se.
I know trans people IRL. So yeah, I can and do write that with a straight face. Fuck off, you anti-Semitic tranmisiac!
They claim that transgender people are being “genocided”, yet when you support genitally mutilating and sterilizing children, that is somehow NOT genocide. Not only that but trangeder people are by definition ending their genetic line by doing so, so its functionally impossible to “genocide” a transgender. You know nothing about being Trans. Not all Trans people get their genitals operated on. There are Trans Women (and yes, they are women) who ejaculate semen and Trans Men (who are men) who can get pregnant (not to mention Non-Binary people who can do one or the other), so you are false in your assertion that trans people are infertile. Also, if you're somebody who can't tell the difference between choosing to get Gender Reassignment Surgery and having others determine that for you, I think it's you who need help.
its the left who cant stand freedom of speech, parental control of their childrens education,Yes, it's the left who has those "don't say gay" and book bans. Right.
and systematic discrimination such as affirmative action and “equity”.Do you have a problem with Legacy admissions into colleges? Are you even aware of them?
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. You'd do best to follow Orwell's advice.
In an even smaller nutshell, Fascism is basically Colonialism directed inward.
If you quoted me quoting Stephen T. Stone's Comment, I think you'll break the Matrix for good this time. Also, thank you for the hearty congratulations! Even though the credit should be 100% Stephen's.
Fuck off Hyman.
First of all, Stephen T. Stone deserves all the credit for the top spot. Not me. 100% him, 0% me. But I'm still honored that I got second place! I love everybody here in the Techdirt Community (except the trolls, you monsters can go to hell)!
Of course, that proves the point of people like me and Stephen T. Stone: that these transmisic laws harm cisgender people as well and not just transgender people. It's kind of like how gender-neutral bathrooms also benefit cisgender people and not only transgender people because gender-neutral bathrooms take the fear away from going into the wrong bathroom. Also, for gender-neutral single-stall bathrooms, if one is occupied, use the other one! My point is this: Laws and policies that protect transgender people protect everybody, and laws and policies that target transgender people have cisgender people as collateral damage.
I'm grateful for the Music Modernization Act. Whenever I make a copyrighted cover of a song, a song using public domain samples (i.e. audio recordings whose © has expired), or receive songwriting royalties from my PRO BMI thanks to people listening to songs I wrote or had a hand in writing on streaming services, I have the MMA to thank for all three of those. The Music Modernization Act was rarer than Koby directly answering a question: it was a good law passed by TFG. That being said, the credit for it being any good should have to go to Ron Wyden, who used his power to benefit the public, which these days is unfortunately more shocking out of an elected official in Washington than if Mike Masnick would advocate for permanent copyright. But Ron Wyden is definitely one of the good ones and on these types of issues, he's the best.
Elon is more like Enshittification on Steroids.
It's also a sad thing come to think of it, because if Nintendo didn't have high standards they wouldn't be the IP bullies they are today who can get away with what Disney wishes it could. People like me end up buying their games because of how good they are, and if I ever broke free of Nintendo's reign of terror, I kept coming back!
I agree with Anathema Device here. While I have a bluesky account just to follow people who aren't on Mastodon/The Fediverse, I've been enjoying my Fediverse experience better as there's less of a penchant towards toxicity and more engagement.
Also, Nintendo's games are highly praised (such as Tears of the Kingdom) and Microsoft's games are not as beloved as Nintendo's games. Microsoft really hasn't had an innovative blockbuster game since Gears of War, and buying their competition hasn't resolved that problem.
Like the Beatles? I would say Genesis, but I think Mike Rutherford is blond…
To every Elon defender here, I say this: You think X/Twitter is doing so great, eh? Pay up. Put your money where your mouth is.
Not only the US, but Canada as well. Indigenous children were taken from their parents at a very young age and put into abusive boarding schools in the US and residential schools in Canada. Canada is further along reckoning with its genocidal history than we are; Canada is actually having truth and reconciliation commissions on these schools that caused so much trauma, whereas we in the US are just starting to have a conversation on it. I mean, I had a great education and I didn't hear about these schools. At the very least, it's cold comfort that they're being brought to the light now. https://boardingschoolhealing.org/interactive-digital-map-of-indian-boarding-schools/
Considering that the appeals court is the fifth circus, and the SCOTUS is the same one that overturned Roe vs. Wade, that's wishful thinking on your part.
