There is at least one rare TV show on Amazon that there doesn’t appear to be any pirate copies of. For whatever reason, the pirates did the first season, but stopped short of doing the season finale, and then completely ignored the second season.I’d gladly pay for it, if I could just download the episodes in a DRM-free format. But I can’t. Everything on there is protected and requires special software to view. Or special, third-party software to download, and since I have an outdated computer, I can’t use it. Are you a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000? Then do I have the website for you!
This is why when I make my music available, I make it available however the listener wants to listen to it: Bandcamp, Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, TIDAL, YouTube, you name it. I even upload my music to the Internet Archive. The last thing I want to do is to deprive someone of my music.
Like Cory Doctorow?
If only they knew about downpour…Downpour also has a subscription service, but each month you get one credit, and one credit is usually redeemable for a book, which you can download DRM-free. I prefer that "subscribe-to-own" business model over a "subscribe-to-rent" business model.
Or on their Nintendo Switches…OH CRAP!!!
Atilla The Hun was also a despotic figure. It's just that he was further back in time.
youtube-dl proved that it’s illegal to download the files from the youtube.I can't speak about Finnish law, but did you know that there are cases in US © law that you could do that legally? I license my music with a Creative Commons license so if someone used youtube-dl to download my original music they aren't doing anything illegal.
Wow. It really says something that Kavanaugh went through a similar confirmation hearing as Thomas and yet he seems like a far less resentful justice.
Not when they're owned my Microsoft. I don't think Dairy Queen would want to go up against them.
I should use "mierdas touch" more often. Thanks! Imma steal your idea…
I'd think it'd be Italian plumbing…or does Nintendo have a monopoly on that?
WB Mason's trucks are seen all around NYC. I think what makes the most sense is to call them a competitor to office supplies stores such as OfficeMax and Staples. That makes Dairy Queen's case worse, not better.
Of course, while we wait for Thomas to convince others, Congress could take action. Check that: Congress should take action. Congress can and should codify the actual malice standard in law. Hell, why not go crazy and not just codify the actual malice standard into law, but pair it with a strong, functioning federal anti-SLAPP law that would allow defendants dragged into court as an intimidation and speech suppression tactic to get cases kicked out of court quickly — and force the abusive plaintiffs to pick up the bill? What's to stop this to-the-right-of-Atilla-the-Hun SCOTUS from striking down such legislation?
Dr. George Tiller and Dr. Barnard Slepian come to mind.
I don't know, but I trust where the AC to whom you replied sourced it, which is from his butt.
This was meant for the anonymous coward up above in the thread. You're cool, Karl.
The GOP will try to outlaw abortion in a national ban once they take control of congress. Mark my words. And if you were really “pro-life” you would support post-natal humans. You would also support contraception. But what’s likely is that you don’t. Also, do you know what an ectopic pregnancy is? Neither the embryo nor the child-bearer could survive one. Yet this will be outlawed, leaving child-bearing people to die. You’re no more “pro-life” than Pol Pot.
