  I can't imagine the level of outrage I would feel if I was even arrested and booked for posting a meme, let alone spending one night in jail. This man spent 37 days in jail. I have seen little to no explanation of who this judge even was, and how they arrived at the conclusion that $2 mil was a reasonable bond. And why did it take the DA 37 days to drop the charges? Just a terrifying example of how easily our legal system can be weaponized. I can't stop shaking my head these days. He deserves every penny of that settlement.

  Hell yeah. I have been to every No Kings, Ice Out, etc. protest in my area in the last year. Anyone who thinks protesting doesn't matter needs to attend one of these events. They matter. Protesting matters. Every time, I come away with renewed will and energy to keep resisting and speaking out against this evil, stupid, soulless regime. There is a collective optimistic energy that cannot be denied. It is especially encouraging to see the handful of MAGA counter-protesters (when any bother to show up) against the thousands of us. It puts into perspective how far we outnumber them, despite the domination of the daily news cycle with the latest Trump atrocity.

  The math ain't mathin'. This child's enrollment was initially denied in August 2025 due to “license plate recognition software showing only Chicago addresses overnight” in July and August. The district has since "repeatedly denied her daughter’s enrollment", which indicates that at least several attempts have been made to provide documentation that overrides the ALPR data. Almost 7 months have passed since August 2025. What, exactly, is the problem? I mean, aside from the off the chain insanity that a school district is establishing "pattern of life" habits of its district residents. I've never heard of a school district that required someone to establish residency more than 30 days prior to enrollment, and even 30 days is extreme. Why the continued denials based on one snapshot in time? Presumably, the ALPR tech is continuing to do its 1984 thing, so what gives?
