I'm not sure what's funnier. The people like you who lie about people like me about being pirates, or the low balance in my bank account that came from supporting filmmakers who were's idiots. I'll just sit back and imagine what life would be like if people who hallucinated were not also voters.
"Our work will... continue as planned" Well, FFS I hope so. I hate spoilers, but I'm not going to change my habits if something is revealed ahead of time. If your entire business model is based upon hiding something, then it's already failed because many people can't/won't buy on the first day of release, which means it's spoiled before people have stopped queuing for something as anticipated as this. Then, in case you haven't noticed, you're still getting people to pay for GTAV copies years after everyone knows all the twists. I can understand people being annoyed here, but anyone who thinks that a leak like this reduces sales needs to have a swift MRI.
"The Disney merger brought Marvel under on owner. As a single example." Example of what, exactly? Which benefit was available to consumers as a result of that which wasn't possibly without the merger? I'll accept to a small degree the fact that the combination of early deals on Disney+ combined with Star being added to the service and allowing a bunch of horror/sci-fi properties to the EU market was cools for us, because they had to make up for Hulu not being a thing in Europe. But, I don't think that Prey being on Disney in Europe so that we didn't have the have 2 subs is what you imagined when making the comment.
Sadly, hallucinations aren't acceptable in court, although Koby will try to submit them every time this subject comes up as if they are the law.
"When (if) they deleted his comments as a user." If he's been prevented from speaking his mind, why do I keep hearing his voice and read his raving ignorant lunacy, which is unfortunately still necessary with his remaining a potential candidate in the next presidential election? Surely if he can't speak his mind, I shouldn't be able to hear the barely coherent ramblings from what passes as it? "Wow, I guess there has never been a banned book, album, game, or film then" Were those banned by Twitter or the government? The answer to that question is important.
"Oh, so now you care about what the GOP does? " My observation is that right-wingers only care when they are affected personally. They lack the empathy required to help others until something happens to make it clear that it's not a personal failing if something happens. I don't wish to know what happened to him personally to sway his vote, but I am interested that he's apparently going against Republicans and not just the ex con artist in chief, and thus might help turn back the voter suppression currently being engaged with.
"Because the Republican Party power has become a threat to my family, friends, and self." Well, congrats on catching up with everyone else I suppose. A shame you couldn't have realised this before voting them into power, but at least you've realised the stakes. "Clinton may make the majority of the country (and other countries) die slowly, poor, hungry, … but at least we wouldn’t be tortured."* *offer of "we" not valid for certain demographics currently being tortured.
"Isn’t there some kind of minimum intelligence required to be a Federal judge" Apparently not. "Definitely need term limits for judges; maybe an age limit, too." I'm not sure if you notice this, but Judge Cannon, who is currently obstructing procedures against a certain orange con artist who has been caught hoarding government documents, is young enough for most of her peers to agree that she has no business being there with so little experience. Term limits won't do anything if the people installing them don't care about competence. In fact, I presume they prefer younger judges, since their lack of experience makes them more easily controlled.
One of our regulars has opted to use a keyboard instead of meds, and the rest of us humour him instead because it seems better than letting him take his issues out on the real world. I'm still not sure if he's completely nuts or a sad, pathetic example of a human being who gets his kicks from acting like he's nuts, but in the end does it matter? As Vonnegut said, we are who we pretend to be...
I've seen some screenshots of the 90s TV series now that have non-white mermaids. So, the racists can bugger off for sure. Imagine being so bereft of a reason to live that you get offended by cartoons from 30 years ago... I'll go for objections that are related to money grabbing remakes that block more original movies and funnel money to the Disney complex that seems to be taking over all cinematic entertainment. But, if the objection is that a creature that literally doesn't exist looks different to how people 150 years ago might have imagined them, then I have no sympathy. Financially support them or not, then pay to support the next thing you want to see more of...
"Is that like the loser saying “it is what is”?" Mike Patton is not a loser. People who think that paywalls do anything other than reject traffic that would organically happen if they weren't told to GTFO for reading a story, however....
"Some people, if “harrassed”, will go to cheaper plans or cancel altogether" So, the chance is zero extra money and less customers. One of the attractive parts of streaming is that you don't have long term contracts. "Some who lose their ability to freeload will actually sign up." ...and many won't. The question is how many sign up, vs. how many people who pay for 4 devices downgrade.
As ever, I can't help but be thankful that the sad, strange world you build around you doesn't resemble the world everyone else lives in.
The problem is - maybe they did. The Spain experiment seems to have resulted in less competition as smaller publishers who got traffic there suffered more than larger publishers who got more direct traffic. The larger players also suffered, but it might be worth it to them if they remove organic traffic to competitors.
"Tell us what Netflix was deprived of?" Fantasy income. You know, they make a lot of money, but what if people were forced to pay them more for the same service? Some people tend to forget that not using the service and doing something else is a valid option.
"Stealing is wrong regardless of who is affected" OK. Now, explain to the class why paying for something and deciding to share it with someone else when you're not actively using it is stealing.
Probably lol. But, seriously, the amount of vitriol because a trailer for The Little Mermaid had someone who looks different to a 30 year old cartoon portraying her... wow. I can't imagine what some places would be like if they couldn't moderate, but I guarantee they wouldn't be places most people would visit.
"It didn’t even get added to the Oxford English Dictionary until 2003" So, it's fine to lock up an existing word that's been part of that dictionary for 19 years? What's the time limit? Does that limit also apply to new words invented by the British, or just foreign loan words? "It’s not even the correct spelling; that would be ‘tequeria’" So... why did you link to something that doesn't contain that spelling? I can't find that spelling anywhere, except relating to a different food apparently popular in Venezuela, which is nothing like a taco. "I’d never come across the world in over 50 years of speaking English, until today." I had. So?
"A quick look at the Taco Bell website in the UK only suggests there are only about 100 taco bells outside of London" That's a hell of a lot more than there were before I left the UK many years ago (I used to relish in visiting TB, Subway and other chains that hadn't made it to those shores yet). But, the lack of a multinational brand doesn't mean the concept doesn't exist. Travel is also a thing, and while someone who doesn't do such things might find the word new, the many, many people who travel to the US and Mexico from the UK every year are likely more familiar. It's true that taquerias are less common in the UK than in the US due to the obvious lack of cultural history and land border, but they're not completely foreign ideas. There's probably more people familiar with the Old El Paso shelf in their local supermarket than an authentic taco but that's no reason to lock up the concept.
"so you don’t like to face up to reality" Reality involves facts, which can be backed up be evidence. Where's the stuff you're basing your claims on?
