Is The IT Department Spying On Your Sex Life?

from the maybe-possibly dept

Over at DEMO earlier this week, there were two different companies that used the now public collection of Enron emails to demonstrate solutions to monitoring emails. One of them even showed an application that would pre-analyze emails to let you know if you probably shouldn’t send it (how many of us wish we had that in the past?). However, what’s becoming increasingly clear is that any IT department can get a pretty good picture of what you’re doing online and what you’re saying in email and IM… and that means they probably know about your office romance, even if you think you’ve been keeping it quiet. The good news, of course, is that most of them really couldn’t care much less about that kind of thing.
