No WiFi During Mavs Games

While sports stadiums all over the country are quickly installing WiFi, one place you won’t be able to use WiFi during a game is in Dallas while watching the Mavs play basketball. While owner Mark Cuban is a well known techie, he’s decided that people should be watching the actual game, and not worrying about people spilling beer on their laptop. While the American Airlines Center, where the Mavs play, now does have WiFi it will be turned off during gametime. Cuban says he could see it being used during half-time or maybe in some other non-gametime situation. This is, to some extent, missing the point. WiFi also allows for more creative uses, such as ordering food or calling up instant replays. To completely cut it off seems a bit heavy handed. Let the fans figure out how to best use the WiFi.
