Impatience Over Opening The BBC Archives
from the chill-out-people... dept
Remember last year when folks at the BBC announced plans to open up some of their archives for free over the internet? Even then it was clear that they weren’t talking about absolutely everything, and anyone with any understanding of how these things work would know that it would clearly take some time before content could be digitized and put online. However, that hasn’t stopped some from complaining that the initial opening of the archives is much weaker than expected. The writer seems to think that every piece of BBC video and audio material was immediately going to be available, when that was never going to be the case, and would take quite some time even if it were.
