Danish Spammer Fined $68,000

from the one-down,-millions-to-go dept

Over in Denmark, they’re trying to get in on the action of suing spammers, and have won a case against a spammer, fining him approximately $68,000. The company wasn’t a regular spamming outfit, but a telecom company that was accused of sending out 15,000 spam messages. Imagine what sort of fine your typical “millions of emails a day” spammer would get. This is the second such judgment against a Danish spammer. Last year, a much smaller spammer (153 emails) received a $2,200 fine. Hopefully, this means, they’re building up to target bigger spammers.
