Verizon, Vodafone to develop dual GSM GPRS/CDMA 1xRTT PC Card

Found over at Reiter’s Wireless Data Web Log is the news that Verizon Wireless and Vodafone are offering a dual GPRS/1xRTT PC Card so you can surf via either kind of network. It always was a bit odd that Vodafone, who uses GSM/GPRS everywhere else was in a deal with Verizon, supporters of CDMA/1xRTT technology. So, now they’re dealing with that difference by offering a dual band PC card. Seems like a good move, though, there’s no indication if there’s going to be any sort of extra “roaming” fee, if you go from your primary network to the other one.
