Webcams In The Classroom?

from the spying-or-keeping-in-touch? dept

A few weeks back there were a few articles about daycare centers offering webcams to let parents check in on their kids during the day. However, once the kids get up to schooling age, it seems that people are much less interested in webcams. A teacher put forth a proposal to use webcams in the classroom to let parents better connect with their students, and get a better feel for the learning process. However, the proposal was soundly rejected. Unfortunately, the article doesn’t give a single explanation for why people voted against it, though, I’d imagine there were some fears about privacy and who (other than parents) might access the webcams.
