The Dot Com IPO Class Of 2000

from the stayin'-alive... dept

As some people are wondering if the days of the dot com IPO are finally returning, USA Today went out to check up on the “dot com IPO class of 2000”. These were the last dot com IPOs to make it out of the gate before the window shut completely. They identified 96 companies that went public after the Nasdaq peaked in March of 2000, and found that many aren’t around in the same form any more (no surprise there). A good number, though, are limping along. They specifically profile the last three dot com IPOs of 2000 – all of whom are still alive. Of course, none are in nearly as good a shape as they were when they went public, and all appear to have plenty of hurdles to overcome moving forward as well.
