Cingular Getting Ready To Launch EDGE Network
Cingular is preparing to be the first US carrier to launch an EDGE network, which will put them into a more competitive position with the two 1xRTT providers. Currently, the GSM/TDMA providers have all just been offering GPRS, which hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations, and has provided slower speeds than the 1x networks from Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless.
