FCC Responds To CTIA Saber-Rattling

Yesterday, we discussed how the CTIA’s arguments against imposing Local Number Portability by November 21 amounted to nothing more than saber-rattling and testing the boundaries. Today, FCC commissioner Jonathan Adelstein responded with (please allow me to paraphrase) “Yeah, um.. Just hit the deadline.” Adelstein said the nine hurdles the CTIA raised yesterday should be brought directly to the FCC, instead of to court. I have to agree, the nine issues in the linked article seem like standard implementation issues, but hardly show-stoppers or legal issues.
