WRISTOMO Launches On A DoCoMo Website

NTT DoCoMo has released its wristwatch-phone, ?Wristomo? through its own separate website. The website takes orders for the phone which will be shipped beginning on May 7. Wristomo weighs only 113 grams, does wireless data at 64Kbps, and can standby for 200 hours. We?ve looked at Wristomo before at Techdirt, and Mike was somewhat down on the idea. My feeling is ?vive la difference?. It?s a variety of devices and form factors that will get consumers with different tastes into the wireless market. I think this terminal will sell well in Japan, but even though it?s waterproof, it probably won?t make the swim to Europe or the US anytime soon.
