The First WPA Products Arrive

Mixed feelings on this, but for the record I’ll post the fact that the first WPA products have arrived, so we can expect a bevy of stories about how WiFi must be secure now, and everyone who has hesitated can now jump on the bandwagon. Of course, WiFi won’t actually be secure, because most people still won’t take the time to understand how they can actually secure their networks. At the same time, plenty of people will figure out other hacks and social engineering tricks to get around any security, and the whole concept of “secure wireless networks” won’t mean very much. I have nothing against increased security systems – but too many people look on it as some holy grail for WiFi, and I doubt it’s going to be everything people hoped for.
