Nokia Camera Sends A Cell Message

While I’m still a bit skeptical about people watching regular videos on their mobile phones there are going to be some applications for video on phones that makes sense in certain cases. Nokia is now getting ready to offer a surveillance camera that sends video directly to your mobile phone. While I’m not sure how big a seller such a system would be (really, do you need to see what’s going on that badly?), it does demonstrate how some non-standard applications can come out of wireless messaging. Much of the rest of the article talks about the potential for machine to machine (M2M) messaging, which certainly has the potential to offer plenty of useful new applications.
