R U Txting Enuf?

A new study looking at text messaging tells us what we already know… people in different countries use text messaging differently. The article briefly touches on some of the reasons for low texting rates in the US (mainly because phone calls are cheap and widespread internet usage means IM on a computer is the preferred communication method). They do point out, though, that France has a texting rate as low as the US. Also, the highest rates for text messaging are in Singapore and the Philipines where the average users sends 200 messages a month (compared with 7 per month in the US).
