Cingular, AT&T Wireless Expanding GSM Coverage

GSM continues to get a boost in the US with a new roaming agreement in place between Cingular and AT&T Wireless. Both carriers are in the process of overlyaing their TDMA networks with GSM. The new roaming agreement should help reduce costs while expanding GSM coverage for each. Currently T-Mobile claims to have the largest GSM network in the US. This new agreement is sure to eliminate that claim and put more pressure on T-Mobile to expand coverage to stay competitive. At the moment T-Mobile competes on price but the number one issue for most wireless users is coverage.
