Grokster Chief Says Lawsuit Good For Business

When the RIAA went after the latest crop of file sharing programs, they hit (at the time) the two big ones: Morpheus and Kazaa. They also added a third player that not as many people had heard of called Grokster. That may have been a mistake, as Grokster is now saying the lawsuit has been incredible publicity for their service. The lawsuit drove a huge number of new subscriptions, which has allowed the company to sign bigger advertising deals. The RIAA’s strategy continues to backfire.
