Silicon Valley Buyouts?
from the now's-the-time? dept
Ever since the downturn began, people have been predicting an increase in buyouts of formerly high flying tech companies. While there have been a few such buyouts, the rush to consolidate hasn’t lived up to most analysts’ expectations. Now, however, people are once again saying that now is the time to buy some down on their luck tech companies. It seems that earlier in the boom people were still distrustful of just about every company, so by giving them a few years to shake themselves out of the market, people are looking at the remaining companies as the “survivors” who actually have something worthwhile. Their valuations are still low, and many have good cash positions and not too much debt. So, it’s not that surprising that investment bankers are saying that there’s been increasing interest in exploring deals.
