Man Arrested For Shutting Down Employers' Computers
from the brilliant dept
It’s amazing that, for all the fear and hype about cyberterrorism and malicious hackers, the biggest threat to almost all corporate networks is that an angry employee will decide to muck things up. This story, about a former network administrator hacking into his old employer’s network and deleting databases is certainly not new. We’ve seen plenty of stories that read almost exactly the same – changing the names and a couple of details around. However, there isn’t nearly as much publicity surrounding these problems, even if the threat is much greater. What still amazes me, though, is that every time these “former” or “disgruntled” (usually both) employees do this is how they expect to get away with it.
