Orange Offers Flat Rate For Data

Sooner or later, you knew that carriers had to start coming around. Now Orange has announced that they’ll be offering a flat-rate for mobile data services, unlike their competitors, who continue to charge per byte. We’ve said this before… people hate the feeling that their being nickled and dimed for everything they do, and they especially dislike “per byte” charges, because no one thinks in bytes. No one has any idea how many bytes of data their using on a regular basis. Charging per byte is actively discouraging customers from using your services. This offering isn’t a “true” flat-rate – as it is capped to a certain amount of data. However, interestingly, Orange has said they won’t crack down on people who go over the monthly limits unless it’s “significantly” over. That sounds (could it be?!?) almost customer friendly!
