Consumer Match-Making Via Mobile Phone

A new service in the UK seeks to perform some mobile match-making between consumers and merchants. Consumers can type into their phones exactly what they’re looking to buy (good or service), and the request is shipped out to merchants. Any merchant who can match what they’re looking for can reply. With all the fear of randomly being bombarded with mobile advertisements as you walk through the mall, this sort of solution makes much more sense. It involves the consumer making a one-time, specific request, and merchants responding. It will be interesting to see if this catches on at all.
