Virtual Job Interviews
from the everything-is-virtual-these-days dept
It seems that everything is going virtual these days. Even job interviews are being pre-recorded and distributed over the internet. Not everyone is a fan of this system, but apparently it’s gaining in popularity in some areas. Potential job candidates are asked a number of questions which they respond to on camera. The system then takes their responses and passes them on to employers who are interested in the candidate’s qualifications. Some like the system because they can practice and only submit their best performance, while also only having to do the basic interview once. However, others are afraid that it doesn’t let them establish any sort of personal relationship with the people who are interviewing them. I could see how it might be a useful tool for just a very initial screening, but I’m not sure how far beyond that it would go.
