RIAA Says Madster Not Obeying Court Order

from the beating-a-dead-horse dept

I’m beginning to think that the RIAA enjoys beating on file sharing companies. They don’t do it for any sound business reason, but they seem to relish their legal attacks with a weird sort of joy. Madster, which we had thought already shut down, apparently has stayed open, and the RIAA is now accusing them of flouting the court order that they stop offering copyrighted songs on their system. They want Johnny Deep (who basically is Madster to be fined $1,500/day and they want the service taken offline. Think of all those legal fees that are coming back to us criminals… I mean, customers… in the form of higher CD prices.
