Verizon to offer AIM

AOL continues to make wireless headway with Verizon as the latest to roll out a version of AOL Instant Messenger. AIM will operate over Verizon’s SMS service and they’ll charge on a per message basis. AIM could be the app that boosts SMS revenues in the US. But it seems to be that the carriers could kill AIM if they added interoperable presence services. Why share the revs with AOL if they don’t have to?
