WCDMA Milestones

Nokia and Ericsson have been busy this week showing off their latest WCDMA achievements. Nokia says it has a phone that meets the 3GPP WCDMA requirements which will be ready to ship by the end of the year. So that means sometime next year knowing how Nokia’s dates tend to slip. SonyEricsson’s work seems a bit more interesting. They have completed a WCDMA to GSM network roaming test. That will be a critical element for WCDMA phones since coverage will be limited to major cities for many years to come.
