PalmSource Ships New Browser
While the PalmOS is still the best PDA OS out there, it is showing its age when compared to PocketPC, especially when you compare the multimedia and network capabilities of the platforms.
To help maintain its leadership position, Palm has started to ship new browser software to software licensees. Even though the browser looks more capable than some of the other Palm alternatives, the main problem is that web pages simply don’t fit on PDA screens. The winner of the wireless device race will need to go beyond just shipping a browser and figure out how to make regular web pages looks good on small screens.
