Nokia Shipping EDGE Hardware and Cutting Staff
Nokia Networks, the company’s network infrastructure group, has been the hardest hit division in the telecom slowdown. They are cutting about 300 jobs in addition to previously announced cuts last month of 900. Yet, despite the cuts Nokia is moving ahead with the availability of EDGE equipment, an incremental upgrade to GSM networks for highspeed data services.
